If you're ever at the Tampa, Florida airport, be sure to check out The Hard Rock Cafe. We were given the unique challenge of furnishing the restaurant, bar, and merchandise store to match the airport's theme. The exterior was designed to resemble an airplane, so we covered it in metal panels. One particularly enjoyable project was creating the roadie case wall, where we stitched together cases to form a unique focal point behind a striking red banquette. The display cases, the largest we've ever constructed, allowed us to showcase our skills beyond the usual wooden designs.
Turning the design team's concepts into reality required careful value engineering to stay within budget. This project pushed us beyond our typical woodshop work, involving extensive use of glass, welding, and wallpapered interior display cases.
